Chelsea might play a crucial role in the potential transfer of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli to Paris Saint Germain (PSG) this summer. Earlier in the transfer window, Chelsea emerged as the favorites to sign Osimhen, who is keen on leaving Napoli despite having a contract until June 30, 2026. However, the move fell through as Chelsea couldn’t meet Napoli’s €130 million release clause for the striker.
Recently, reports indicated that PSG had agreed on personal terms with Osimhen as they look for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who transferred to Real Madrid this summer. However, negotiations between PSG and Napoli stalled due to financial disagreements.
So, how can Chelsea facilitate Osimhen’s transfer to PSG?
Chelsea, still in the market for strikers, have been linked with PSG’s forwards Goncalo Ramos and Randal Kolo-Muani. French publication L’Equipe reported that PSG is willing to sell one of these players to make room for Osimhen. Following up on this, HITC reported that Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign one or both of these forwards. If Chelsea takes up this offer, it could clear the path for Osimhen’s move to PSG.
“HITC understands that intermediaries have reached out to clubs to inform them about the availability of Randal Kolo-Muani and Goncalo Ramos,” the publication stated. “PSG would be willing to part ways with both players this summer to make space for Osimhen, and Chelsea are one of the clubs who have been contacted.”
Chelsea’s search for new strikers to bolster their lineup after relying heavily on Nicolas Jackson last season could benefit PSG by facilitating Osimhen’s transfer.
