Jacob Zango, a renowned Nigerian journalist, has passed away in Kaduna State after a brief illness. The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter, confirmed his death in a statement issued on August 16, 2024. Zango, who was deeply respected in the field of journalism, died on Wednesday.

SWAN Kaduna Chairman, Shehu Abdullahi, expressed profound sorrow over Zango’s passing, noting that his expertise was highly valued by the association. The organization extended its condolences to Zango’s family, the Kaduna State Government, the Atyap community, and his friends and professional colleagues.

The statement read: “On behalf of all our members and SWAN President, Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, who is also from our state, we express our sadness following the demise of one of our veterans. While I was a staff of Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC), where he worked until the unfortunate event, we were not just close but like brothers. We pray that the Almighty God grants his gentle soul eternal rest.
