Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is feeling the heat as his team faces Southampton in a must-win clash today. Ten Hag, who has been under scrutiny since last season, is under even more pressure after a poor start to the 2024-2025 Premier League campaign. United have lost two of their first three games, leaving them in 14th place on the league table.

Despite these struggles, newly-appointed CEO Omar Berrada has publicly backed Ten Hag, giving him some breathing room. However, the upcoming match against Southampton could be crucial for the Dutch manager, who knows the importance of turning things around quickly.

Ahead of the game, which kicks off at 12:30 p.m. today, Ten Hag acknowledged the pressure, saying, “In football, you have to win, you have to deliver, that’s clear. It’s good that the new leadership acknowledges this… We are working together to be more successful and we have higher targets than we’ve already achieved.”

United’s squad for the 2024-2025 season includes several new signings, such as Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, Manuel Ugarte, Leny Yoro, and Joshua Zirkzee. The squad features a mix of experienced players and young talents, reflecting the club’s commitment to building a balanced team.
