Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro has condemned the recent local government elections in Benue State, calling the process a sham and an insult to democracy. The Benue State Independent Electoral Commission declared the APC winners of all 23 LGAs. However, Moro, through his media aide, claimed elections did not take place in many areas, with reports of ballot-stuffing at APC leaders’ homes. He expressed disappointment in Governor Hyacinth Alia, accusing him of failing to uphold truth and due process, contrary to promises made during his campaign.
