The All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly condemned the recent attack on its secretariat in Gusau, Zamfara State, and called on security agencies to take immediate action against the perpetrators. The assault, which occurred during a protest, followed earlier attacks on the residences of several APC chieftains.

Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, the party’s Publicity Secretary, issued a statement on Monday expressing outrage over the vandalism. He detailed that during the protest, thugs looted and severely damaged the APC secretariat, destroying furniture, glass windows, doors, and other property.

The statement highlighted previous incidents, including attacks on the residence of Senator Sahabi Ya’u in Kaura Namoda and an attempt to set fire to the residence of former Governor Matawalle in Gusau. The APC had previously warned against potential retaliatory violence by PDP thugs, but these warnings went unheeded.

The party urged both the state government and security agencies to provide adequate protection for people’s lives and property. Gusau emphasized that while APC members and supporters have remained peaceful and law-abiding, this should not be mistaken for weakness.

“We strongly condemn these actions and demand that the security agencies swiftly apprehend those responsible for these attacks,” Gusau stated.
