The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, participated in the ongoing governorship election, casting his vote at Ward 4, Emokpae Primary School, in Benin City. He completed the process quickly and expressed satisfaction with the proceedings. Obaseki urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a smooth vote-counting process and praised voters for showing up despite heavy rain.
Meanwhile, Dr. Pedro Obaseki, deputy director-general of the Asue Ighodalo Campaign, condemned the alleged use of armored tanks and intimidation tactics by opposition forces. He affirmed that the Edo people would not be deterred and would exercise their voting rights.
