Manchester United forwards Marcus Rashford and Tyrell Malacia were involved in a car accident on July 16, 2024, after a suspected drunk driver crashed into Rashford’s Range Rover.
The collision, which involved a black Mercedes sports car and Rashford’s blue Range Rover Sport, occurred when Rashford, 25, was driving with Malacia, 24, as the passenger. Both players were promptly taken to a hospital for medical checks, though they did not sustain any visible injuries.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 55-year-old man, was arrested by Cheshire Police on suspicion of drink-driving and subsequently examined at Macclesfield Hospital. Both Rashford and Malacia were cleared by doctors and returned to training the next day.
Cheshire Police confirmed the details of the crash and noted that Rashford had recently been given a six-month driving ban for speeding. Despite this incident, Rashford joined Manchester United’s pre-season tour in Los Angeles, while Malacia focused on fitness work in Manchester following a season interrupted by injury.
