Kola Ologbondiyan, former national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed frustration over the ongoing crisis within the party, which he says is unfairly centered around former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. Speaking on ARISE TV, Ologbondiyan emphasized that the PDP is larger than any two individuals and expressed disappointment that these figures are perceived as the source of the party’s division.
Ologbondiyan called for efforts to be redirected towards restoring peace and strengthening the PDP as a viable opposition force, asserting that there are capable leaders within the party who can unify and revitalize it. He underscored the PDP’s role as the country’s primary opposition party and its potential to collaborate with other parties to create a formidable opposition coalition.
“It’s essential to focus on strengthening the PDP beyond individuals,” Ologbondiyan stated, warning that the party’s future should not be jeopardized by the issues surrounding Atiku and Wike. He encouraged a shift in perspective to preserve and enhance the PDP’s role in Nigeria’s political landscape.
