Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe exudes confidence as the team gears up for their opening match against Brazil in the 2024 Paris Olympics, asserting that Nigeria can compete with the world’s best.

The Super Falcons are set to face Brazil at 6 p.m. today, July 25, in their first match of the tournament. Ucheibe, enthusiastic about her participation in the Olympics, aims to help Nigeria clinch a gold medal.

“I am happy to be among the squad going for the Olympics in Paris 2024. I am grateful to God for the opportunity. It has not been easy, but He made it possible,” said Ucheibe.

The 23-year-old Benfica player is confident in the team’s preparation despite being in a challenging Group C with world champions Spain, Brazil, and Japan.

“The training is good. The preparation is good. The spirit is high. Everyone is ready from the coaches, players, and staff, and everyone in camp is so happy and fighting so hard to prepare better for the Olympics,” Ucheibe shared.

“Every team is a tough opponent, so we are going there to compete, and I know we are going to do our best.”
