The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has accused members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of attempting to influence President Bola Tinubu’s appointments. In a candid interview on Channels Television on Friday, Wike challenged PDP stakeholders to reveal themselves if they did not attempt to submit names for ministerial positions.
“Who in the PDP did not try to nominate names for President Tinubu’s appointments?” Wike questioned. “Let them come forward and prove they didn’t.”
Wike’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions with the PDP, including his recent threats against any PDP governor who interferes in his conflict with Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State.
In a bold move, Wike also dared any PDP leader or governor to publicly label him a mole on national television. “I wrote to the PDP at various levels before accepting my ministerial role. If anyone in the PDP believes I am a mole, they should name themselves,” he said.
He added, “In 2023, I openly declared my stance against supporting the PDP presidential candidate based on principles of equity and fairness. We achieved significant victories at various levels—governorship, National Assembly, and state assembly—through effective leadership. I challenge anyone to match our achievements.”
