This decision emerged from the “Ogoni, Oyigbo People’s Assembly,” held on Saturday in Tai Local Government Area. The assembly included prominent figures such as Senator Barinada Mpigi, Senator Magnus Abe, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, and Victor Giadom, all known to be loyal to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

- Ogoni/Oyigbo Governorship Slot: The assembly called for the governorship position to be filled by a candidate from the Ogoni/Oyigbo regions in 2027.
- Political Unity: They emphasized the need for unity and cooperation between the Ogoni and Oyigbo people.
- Criticism of Fubara: The assembly condemned the current governor, Fubara, and questioned the actions of some political actors visiting Aso Villa to support President Bola Tinubu without public acknowledgment.

- Endorsement of Wike: The assembly reaffirmed support for President Tinubu’s administration and endorsed Nyesom Wike as the political leader of Rivers State.
- Call for Presidential Aspirations: They also encouraged President Tinubu to run for the 2027 election to complete ongoing projects.
The assembly praised Wike for his role in politically uniting the Ogoni and Oyigbo regions and criticized Ijaw leader Edwin Clark for his comments against Wike.
