Thirteen farmers were tragically killed by bandits in Niger State while working on their farms. The attack occurred in the Ijuwa outskirts of the Alawa community within Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA), as reported by Naija News.
According to the LGA Chairman, Akilu Isyaku, nine of the victims were shot dead, while the remaining four lost their lives at a separate location on the same day. The assailants targeted the community, allegedly believing that its residents were informing security forces about their activities.
Niger State Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba condemned the brutal attack, calling it inhumane and expressing condolences to the affected families and community members. This violence has caused widespread fear among local farmers, with many abandoning their fields to avoid further attacks.
