Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of the 8th National Assembly and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), has hailed the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention as a landmark event that underscores the party’s discipline, resilience, and readiness to steer Nigeria toward greater progress.
In his congratulatory statement, Dogara extended heartfelt felicitations to the newly elected national officers of the APC, describing their emergence as a collective victory for democracy. He lauded Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the new National Chairman, for his stabilizing influence and foresight, noting that his leadership will strengthen the party’s base and inspire confidence nationwide. He equally praised Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary, for his organizational acumen, which he said will be critical in deepening internal harmony and driving the party’s agenda.
Dogara also commended the Convention leadership team, led by Hon. Aminu Masari and Sen. Pius Anyim, for their exceptional coordination and transparent conduct of the exercise. He described their efforts as “a shining example of discipline and integrity in political organization, setting a new standard for conventions in Nigeria.”
Paying tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Dogara emphasized the President’s pivotal role in consolidating the APC’s achievements and guiding the nation with courage and vision. He described Tinubu as “a leader of destiny whose unwavering commitment to unity and prosperity continues to inspire hope across Nigeria.”
Reflecting on the broader meaning of the Convention, Dogara remarked: “This gathering is more than a routine election of officers; it is a resounding declaration of our unity and determination to serve. It demonstrates the APC’s deep roots in democratic ideals and its unshakable commitment to Nigeria’s progress.”
He concluded with optimism, expressing confidence that the new leadership team will build on past successes and chart a bold path forward: “With the caliber of leaders elected, the APC has shown that it is prepared to meet the challenges ahead. Nigeria’s future is secure, and the promise of progress is unstoppable.”
