Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, CFR, former Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and Chairman of the Board of the National Credit Guarantee Company Limited (NCGC), has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across the nation and beyond, calling on the faithful to reflect deeply on the season’s enduring lessons of sacrifice, renewal, and unity.
Dogara described Easter as the most significant celebration in the Christian calendar, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ — the foundation of Christian faith. He emphasized that the resurrection symbolizes victory over despair, hatred, and division, offering humanity a timeless message of hope and reconciliation.
“Easter reminds us that through faith, trials are overcome and love triumphs over strife. It is a season to recommit ourselves to compassion, forgiveness, and service,” Dogara said. He noted that the relevance of Easter’s message is heightened in today’s world, where societies grapple with divisions, conflicts, and uncertainty.
According to him, Easter is not only a spiritual commemoration but also a call to action. “The resurrection of Christ challenges us to rise above bitterness, extend fellowship, and work together for peace and prosperity,” he stated.
