Dr. Fauziya Buhari-Ado, Special Assistant to the Governor of Kaduna State on the School Feeding Program, has been awarded and recognized as one of the 100 most notable Africans. The honor was presented during a business investment summit held from August 1-4 at the Marriott Hotel in Kigali, Rwanda.
Addressing the audience, Buhari-Ado encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful despite the current economic hardships, emphasizing Africa’s potential and resilience. She stated, “Africa is rich with talent, and while economic challenges persist, they are not unique to Nigeria alone. We must unite and make a difference in our own ways.” Her speech resonated with the audience, reflecting her dedication to positive societal impact.
Buhari-Ado highlighted her commitment to improving school enrollment and retention among vulnerable children through the Kaduna State school feeding program. She expressed gratitude to Governor Uba Sani and other supporters for their contributions to enrolling over 25,000 students across 23 local councils.
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara, also an awardee, discussed the importance of collaboration and networking among business, governance, and security leaders to advance Africa’s progress.
Amb. Kingsley Amafibe, the event convener, praised the summit as a pivotal platform for advancing the African dream through innovative business ideas and responsible leadership. Key focus areas for Africa’s growth include fostering collaboration, investing in human capital, and overcoming regional entry barriers to enhance economic development.
