Dr. Ngozi Okoronkwo, the former Commissioner for Health in Abia State, has been exonerated of allegations related to financial misconduct and mismanagement of public funds.
Following her suspension in June by Governor Alex Otti, an investigation committee was formed to review the claims. Despite her resignation during the investigation, the committee has now cleared Dr. Okoronkwo of any wrongdoing. The Governor confirmed her exoneration during his monthly media chat.
In celebration of this clearance, the Amaokwe Item community in Bende LGA gathered at the Item Mini Stadium on Saturday. The community expressed their pride in Dr. Okoronkwo’s achievements and service to the state. They honored her with awards and bestowed upon her the title of Adaukwu Okwoaja of Amaokwe Item.
Dr. Okoronkwo, reflecting on her tenure, highlighted the revitalization of the Umunneato Hospital as one of her significant accomplishments. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and urged continued support for Governor Otti’s administration.
Government and party officials, including the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Chimezie Ukaegbu, attended the event, praising Dr. Okoronkwo’s contributions to the state.
