The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two individuals in connection with the possession of a fresh human skull, believed to belong to an unidentified woman. The arrest occurred in the Amuloko area of Ibadan, the state capital.

According to the police spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso, the arrest followed a viral video that showed residents confronting a man, identified only as Musa, after becoming suspicious of his unusual behavior. When the residents insisted on inspecting the sack he was carrying, they were horrified to discover a human skull inside.

The video was shared widely on social media by OyoAffairs, prompting swift action by the police. Musa reportedly confessed to being part of a syndicate involved in the trade of human body parts, leading to the arrest of another suspect.

Osifeso confirmed that the case is under investigation, with more details expected to emerge as authorities continue their probe.

This incident is reminiscent of another recent case in the state, where two men were caught by the Western Nigeria Security Network, also known as Amotekun, for allegedly exhuming the head of a freshly buried corpse in Saki. Both cases have raised concerns about the prevalence of such gruesome crimes in the region.
