In a tragic incident in Karkari village, Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, six family members, including a mother and her five children, have died after consuming a local delicacy. The victims, identified as 35-year-old Alhaqatu Abdulkarim and her children Usman (9), Fiddausi (11), Hafsa (7), Jamilu (4), and Bashari (19), passed away after suffering severe abdominal complications.

The family was rushed to Gwarzo General Hospital, where they died in intervals while receiving treatment. The Ward Head of Karkari village, Yakubu Danazumi, confirmed the incident, noting that the deaths occurred over a span of four days, with the first two deaths on Tuesday and the last on Friday. The victims were buried according to Islamic rites, with a seven-day prayer scheduled for the coming Tuesday.

This tragedy comes just months after the family lost their father, leaving behind the mother and her children, who have now all passed away after eating the meal.
