Fulham has secured the signing of Norwegian international Sander Berge from Burnley in a transfer deal valued at £25 million.
Berge, who has agreed to a five-year contract with Fulham, has the option for an additional 12-month extension with the club. The initial payment is £20 million, with a further £5 million in potential add-ons.
The 26-year-old midfielder previously played for Sheffield United before joining Burnley in 2023. Following Burnley’s relegation to the Championship, Berge earned the title of the club’s player of the year.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Sander Berge said, “It feels fantastic. It’s been a little bit back and forth the last few weeks, but I’m finally sitting here in the shirt in this beautiful stadium, knowing that my future is here, which feels great.”
This transfer marks Fulham’s fourth signing of the transfer window, following the acquisitions of Emile Smith Rowe, Jorge Cuenca, and Ryan Sessegnon.
Although Berge made 37 appearances for Burnley last season, he has been absent from the Clarets’ lineup in their two Championship fixtures this term.
Berge, who has earned 46 caps for the Norwegian national team, might make his Premier League debut for Fulham when the club hosts Leicester City on August 24.
