Former beauty queen Oluwadamilola Aderinoye, who was declared wanted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) eight months ago, has surrendered to the agency’s Lagos command. Aderinoye, crowned Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture 2015/2016, turned herself in after hiding since January 24, 2024, when NDLEA operatives raided her apartment in Lekki, Lagos, and discovered illicit substances.
During the raid, NDLEA agents recovered 606 grams of Canadian Loud, a synthetic strain of cannabis, an electronic weighing scale, large quantities of drug packaging materials, and a black RAV 4 SUV. Aderinoye claimed she had been in hiding in Akure, Ondo State, since the raid.
In related operations, NDLEA intercepted large shipments of tramadol and codeine-based syrup at the Port Harcourt Port Complex and Tin Can Seaport in Lagos. These seizures, worth over N17.9 billion in street value, highlight the agency’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria.
The agency also made multiple arrests in connection with drug trafficking across various states, including Lagos, Rivers, and Bauchi. These operations underscore NDLEA’s commitment to curbing the spread of illicit drugs in the country.
