Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has extended his condolences to the victims of recent fire incidents in Oyo, Lagos, and Niger States.
In his message on X, Atiku addressed the tragic events caused by collisions involving fuel tankers and articulated vehicles. Notably, a fuel tanker from Wudil, Kano, collided with a cattle trailer on the Agaie-Bida Road in Niger State, resulting in over 40 fatalities.
The former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed his sympathies for those affected, highlighting that the fires in Niger and Lagos claimed 48 and 3 lives respectively, while the Ibadan incident caused significant damage.
Atiku also commended the Fire Service personnel in all three states for their efforts in handling the emergencies and offered prayers for the quick recovery of the injured and eternal mercy for the deceased. He extended his sympathies to families and trade unions impacted by these incidents and expressed his appreciation for the bravery of the emergency responders.
