Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has announced the approval of monthly stipends for students in the state. Undergraduates will receive ₦20,000, while postgraduate students and those studying medicine, law, engineering, and agriculture will receive ₦30,000 per month.

The governor made this announcement during a Youth Appreciation Rally at Uyo Township Stadium, emphasizing the state’s commitment to supporting education. The bursary increase from ₦10,000 to ₦20,000 for undergraduates, and ₦30,000 for postgraduate and professional students, will take effect in the current academic session.

Governor Eno also highlighted ongoing youth training programs, including engineering partnerships with Ethiopian Airlines and agricultural training aimed at empowering young farmers. He promised that the government would provide seedlings and purchase crops from the trained youths once harvested, ensuring sustainable support for their businesses.
