Nollywood filmmaker Shina Sanyaolu has passed away. Renowned for his contributions to the Yoruba genre of Nollywood, Sanyaolu was a respected film producer and director.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear at this time. Bolaji Amusan, President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, confirmed the news, expressing his condolences on Instagram: “Sleep well uncle Shina Sanyaolu.”
Veteran actor Jide Kosoko also paid tribute, highlighting Sanyaolu’s kindness and significant impact on the industry. Kosoko remembered Sanyaolu as a beacon of support and generosity, noting his contributions to the arts and his warm hospitality, particularly during the 1980s in the UK.
Sanyaolu’s legacy includes notable works such as ‘The Honourable,’ ‘Two Wives,’ and ‘Omo Olosan.’
