On the first anniversary of singer Mohbad’s death, Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has shared reflections and cautions about the moral lessons learned. Through a heartfelt Instagram post, Aiyeola warned against compromising one’s integrity for the sake of wealth, emphasizing that such sacrifices are ultimately not worthwhile.
Aiyeola expressed concern over how the pursuit of money can lead to discord even among family members, advising her followers to avoid becoming a “sacrificial lamb” for anyone, regardless of personal relationships.
“It’s been one year since Mohbad transitioned, and the events surrounding his death have led to many reflections,” she wrote. “One key lesson is that tarnishing your conscience for wealth is never worth it. The love of money and fear of powerful figures can turn even loved ones against you. Human survival instincts don’t respect love, loyalty, or friendship.”
She further warned against making personal sacrifices with the expectation of honor or recognition, stating that such sacrifices can end up being devalued or misused.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, under circumstances that remain under scrutiny, with ongoing investigations into his death.
