The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kaduna State has issued a stern warning to bandits and criminals, urging them to repent or face severe consequences for their actions. The newly appointed Commandant, Nuhu Muhammad, delivered this message during a visit by the acting Zonal Commander of NSCDC Zone B, Amos Abiodun, in Kaduna on Friday.
Muhammad emphasized that criminals disrupting the state’s peace and stability must change their ways and become law-abiding citizens or be held accountable for their crimes. He reiterated that the NSCDC’s mandate is to protect lives, property, and critical national infrastructure, a mission the Kaduna command is determined to pursue with vigor.
He appealed to residents across the state to provide information on suspicious activities in their communities to assist the corps and other security agencies in taking appropriate actions. Muhammad reassured Kaduna’s citizens of their safety, advising them to “sleep with both eyes closed,” as NSCDC personnel have been deployed statewide to prevent criminal activities.
In collaboration with other security agencies, Muhammad vowed to tackle the state’s criminal issues head-on. Acting Zonal Commander Amos Abiodun also pledged support for the new commandant and urged NSCDC personnel to perform their duties without fear or favor.
Muhammad officially took over leadership of the Kaduna command from his predecessor, Lucy Fakoya, on September 6.
