President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his satisfaction and relief following a series of successful military operations against bandit and terrorist leaders in Nigeria’s north-western region. The President’s comments, conveyed through a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, underscore his confidence in the security operatives’ capabilities.
The statement highlights recent victories achieved by Operation Hadarin Daji, which included the neutralization of notorious bandit leader Halilu Sububu, known for terrorizing communities in Zamfara, Sokoto, and other north-western areas. Additionally, the troops eliminated another terrorist, Sani Wala Burki, during a joint operation in Katsina and dismantled a terrorist enclave in Kaduna, leading to the rescue of 13 kidnapped students.
These successes follow President Tinubu’s directive for service chiefs to remain in the conflict zones until stability is restored. Tinubu praised the military high command, intelligence agencies, and the troops for their coordinated efforts and dedication, which he believes have significantly improved national security.
The President called for continued vigilance and commitment from the security forces to eradicate both immediate and potential threats. He assured the security agencies of his ongoing support, reaffirming his commitment to ensuring the nation’s safety and security.
