Nigerian music sensation, Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, popularly known as Seyi Vibez, has officially parted ways with his record label, Dapper Music. A quick check of the artist’s social media activity reveals that the 24-year-old singer and the label have unfollowed each other, signaling the end of their professional relationship.
The split follows backlash Seyi Vibez received from Nigerians in Toronto after abruptly canceling a scheduled performance. In response, the artist updated his social media bio to announce his new status as an “Independent artist” and removed all previous posts, marking the start of his independent career.
Despite this, Seyi Vibez continues to make waves in the industry. He recently released the official video for his song Lagos, which tells a story of love, betrayal, and survival.
Seyi Vibez, who rose to fame with his hit single Chance (Na Ham) in 2022, won the Best Street-Hop Artiste award at the 16th Headies in 2023. In a recent interview, he shared memories of his challenging early life, including leaving home at 15 to support his family, recounting the difficulties of growing up in the ghetto.
