Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently shared a personal story about being scammed by a fake military commandant. Adeboye revealed that he was approached by a man pretending to represent a paramilitary group who sought his involvement as their spiritual leader.
Driven by his admiration for the military, Adeboye admitted he agreed to the proposal without seeking divine guidance, a step he usually takes before making major decisions. The imposter eventually requested financial support, which Adeboye provided, only to later discover that the man was a fraud.
Reflecting on the experience, Adeboye warned against trying to “outrun God” in pursuit of worldly achievements, emphasizing that doing so could lead to unnecessary loss or worse. He shared how the incident cost him financially, but he learned valuable lessons about patience and trusting in God’s timing. Adeboye reminded his audience that success and blessings will come at the right time if they trust in God’s plan.
He concluded by encouraging people to seek divine guidance and allow their success to unfold naturally under God’s direction.
