Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State reaffirmed the importance of peace in creating a conducive environment for governance and development during an event commemorating the 2024 International Day of Peace. He assured that his administration is committed to promoting peace across the state, which would benefit all residents and businesses.
Represented by Dr. George Nwaeke, the Head of Service of Rivers State Civil Service, Governor Fubara made this assertion while receiving members of the International Association of World Peace Advocates, Eminent Peace Ambassadors, Rivers State Chapter. The group undertook a road walk in Port Harcourt to mark the International Day of Peace with the theme “Cultivating a Culture of Peace.”
Governor Fubara urged the people of Rivers State and Nigerians at large to continue spreading the message of peace, particularly at a time when the nation faces challenges. He noted that his administration would maintain its peaceful stance to ensure continued development in the state.
Juliet Wokocha, Director of the International Association of World Peace Advocates, commended the Governor for his peaceful leadership and pledged the association’s support in sustaining peace in Rivers State. She emphasized that peace is essential for growth and development and praised Governor Fubara for his high level of tolerance, which has helped maintain stability in the state.
Governor Fubara reiterated that peace remains a core principle of his governance and invited everyone to advocate for it within their communities for the state’s collective good.
