The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced the elimination of 1,937 terrorists, including 65 notorious leaders, by Nigerian military forces between July and September 2024. During the same period, troops also arrested 2,782 suspected terrorists and other criminals, while rescuing 1,854 kidnapped hostages. Significant leaders like Munzir Arika, Sani Dilla, and Ameer Modu were among those killed in the military operations.
Additionally, the military recovered 1,304 weapons and 43,347 rounds of ammunition. The operations also thwarted crude oil theft valued at ₦13 billion, contributing to an increase in the nation’s oil production. The DHQ emphasized that these successes mark a significant step in improving national security and combating criminal activities across Nigeria.
