The Edo State Government has raised concerns over an alleged plan by reinstated Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu to forcibly enter the Edo State Government House on Monday, September 30, despite an ongoing stay of execution appeal against his reinstatement.
In a statement by Crusoe Osagie, Special Adviser to the Edo State Government, authorities have called on the Inspector General of Police to intervene and prevent potential chaos. The government cited a previous violent attempt by Shaibu that resulted in the death of a police officer, warning that any further actions could escalate tensions in the state.
The government also noted that legal proceedings are ongoing and urged caution to maintain peace while the Court of Appeal considers the case.
