The Nigerian presidency has raised concerns over intentional efforts to discredit the federal government’s Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative. Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, noted that misleading information is being spread to create public fear and confusion about the CNG project and vehicle conversions.
This reaction follows a recent tragic accident in Ebonyi State, where a bus caught fire, leading to the loss of five lives. Olusegun clarified that contrary to rumors, the accident was not linked to CNG use, as confirmed by police and credible media sources.
Urging Nigerians to be cautious about misinformation, Olusegun highlighted the impact of false reports, especially on social media. He also extended condolences to the families of the accident victims and cautioned against spreading baseless fears about the CNG initiative.
