The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has indefinitely suspended Shehu Hadi Ahmad, the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA). This decision was confirmed in a Thursday statement by Lere Olayinka, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications.

Olayinka stated that the suspension was immediate, and Ahmad was instructed to transfer his responsibilities to the Director of Engineering Services. The reason for this sudden action was not disclosed.

PDP Condemns Wike Over Alleged Attack on Sule Lamido’s Legacy

In a separate development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has voiced strong criticism against allegations involving former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido. The claims, reportedly supported by Minister Wike and published under the title “You were part of the rebellion against PDP in 2014,” have sparked discontent among PDP members.

Muhammad Mago, a leading figure in the Jigawa PDP, dismissed the article as a deliberate attempt to tarnish Lamido’s image. He accused Wike of orchestrating the smear campaign to create discord within the party.

Mago labeled the accusations as “malicious” and described Wike’s acceptance of a ministerial role in the APC as a betrayal of PDP values. He praised Lamido’s longstanding commitment to the PDP, citing his record as a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and as Jigawa’s governor, underscoring his dedication to national and party interests despite ongoing political tensions.
