A mobile police officer who was abducted in the Kampani community of Bashar District, Plateau State, has been found dead. The officer was taken by bandits last Wednesday evening while traveling with a soldier from Zurak to Kampani. The soldier managed to escape the ambush. The body of the police officer was discovered in a bush at Bangalala on Sunday, according to sources from Wase town. As of now, the Plateau State Police Command has not issued a statement on the incident.
In other news, Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Mba, and his wife have been released after being held captive for a day. They were abducted on Friday along the Edo-Kogi Expressway while en route to Abuja for a wedding. A government official confirmed their release, stating that the state government will provide a formal statement soon.
