The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s donation of 100 vehicles to the State Police Command, calling it a “misplacement of priority” given the current economic hardships.
In a statement by APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Tony Okocha, the party criticized the governor for focusing on vehicle donations while residents face severe hunger. Okocha highlighted other states, such as Niger and Lagos, where governors are providing farm equipment and food to alleviate hunger, contrasting this with Fubara’s decision to donate cars. The APC questioned the relevance of the donation, arguing it does little to address the pressing food insecurity in the state.
