Grace Adagba, Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), has announced that teachers who are found absent from their duty posts will be redeployed to their local government areas of origin. This directive comes as part of her oversight of school resumption across the state.
In a statement from Akese Emmanuella, the Information Officer for Benue SUBEB, Adagba expressed satisfaction with the prompt return of many teachers and emphasized the importance of timely resumption and effective lesson delivery.
She highlighted the board’s commitment to improving educational quality by ensuring that teachers are present and actively engaged with students from the start of the school term. Teachers are also urged to keep their lesson plans updated and begin instruction immediately.
Adagba commended Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his efforts in enhancing teachers’ welfare through the prompt payment of salaries, and she called on teachers to show their appreciation by dedicating themselves to their responsibilities.
The head teacher of St Joseph Primary School, Terzungwe Tsetim, and parent Noble Ahor both praised Adagba’s efforts in monitoring school activities and ensuring that education standards are upheld.
