Prof. Ismail Junaidu, Executive Secretary of the National Education Research Development Council (NERDC), has passed away. Reports indicate that Junaidu died in the early hours of Thursday, July 25, in Damaturu, Yobe State, where he was attending the Joint Consultative Committee on Education (JCCE) program.
Details about the cause of his death are currently scarce. While some sources have suggested he collapsed before his passing, an NERDC representative has denied this, stating that his death was sudden and without prior symptoms.
Prof. Junaidu’s remains have been moved to Katsina for burial, which is scheduled to take place later today.
