The Federal High Court in Abuja has rejected a request to issue an injunction against the #EndBadGovernance protests that occurred from August 1 to 10. Judge Peter Lifu dismissed the ex parte motion filed by Danladi Goje, Buky Abayomi, Adiza Abbo, and 13 other Nigerians, who sought to prevent further demonstrations.

The applicants claimed their rights were being infringed upon by the protests and targeted several organizations involved in the demonstrations. However, Judge Lifu noted that the protests had concluded and criticized the applicants’ lawyer for inadequate evidence supporting the request for an injunction. The court dismissed the application and set the next hearing for August 29, 2024.
