Nollywood actress and politician Tonto Dikeh, along with her bodyguard Gbenga, has been summoned by the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, to face charges of assault and criminal trespass.
According to the court summons dated August 6, 2024, both defendants are required to appear before the court on August 24, 2024, to respond to the allegations.
The suit, referenced as case number CR/359/2024, was filed by Elvis Abuyere, CEO of Skyewise Group Limited, an Abuja-based car dealership. Abuyere claims that Dikeh, who sought to purchase a Changan Uni-K 2023 model, agreed to pay N85 million to Mikano Motors. Dikeh was supposed to pay the balance in installments within three months.
Dikeh initially made a deposit of N37 million for a used 2008/2009 Lexus and an additional N3.5 million. However, she failed to settle the remaining balance by the end of April, breaching the payment agreement. Abuyere subsequently retrieved the car and Dikeh made partial payments totaling N42 million, leaving an outstanding balance of N2.1 million.
On July 30, after contacting the car company for servicing, Dikeh was asked to pay the remaining N2.7 million. Allegedly, she forcibly entered the car company’s premises with her bodyguard and two other women, committing “criminal trespass.” The group is accused of assaulting the complainant and staff, damaging property, and threatening to damage the company’s reputation on social media.
