The Federal Government has expressed strong disapproval of the poor treatment Nigerian passengers endured at the hands of Royal Air Maroc in Morocco. The Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, stated that the federal government will not tolerate such inhumane actions.
Images and videos circulated on social media showed Nigerian passengers, including women and children, sleeping on the floor at Marrakesh airport. The stopover occurred due to a technical issue with the plane en route from Casablanca to Abuja.
Reacting to the situation, Keyamo, through his X (formerly Twitter) account, urged Royal Air Maroc to address the issue promptly and ordered the airline to provide relief to the stranded passengers. He also directed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority’s (NCAA) Consumer Protection Department to engage Royal Air Maroc Nigeria to ensure the well-being of the affected Nigerians.
