At least four people are feared dead after a trailer plunged into a ditch along the old Oyo-Ogbomosho Road on Thursday night. The trailer, traveling from Oyo to Ilorin, fell into a ditch at a damaged section of the road, ejecting passengers and trapping them beneath the vehicle. The accident occurred near the Emaayo-Seminary area of Ogbomosho. Local residents have long appealed for repairs to this hazardous stretch, but the pleas have gone unanswered. The ongoing construction of the new Ibadan-Oyo-Ogbomosho-Ilorin expressway has been delayed since 2001.
