Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has announced the dissolution of the 17 Local Government Transition Implementation Committee Chairmen, effective from September 6, 2024.
This was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by Gyang Bere, the State Director of Press and Public Affairs. The committees, which were originally appointed on June 9, 2023, for a six-month term, had their mandates extended several times before the recent decision.
Governor Mutfwang directed the Directors of Personnel Management in the 17 local government areas to take over administration until elections are held on October 9, 2024, to fill the vacant leadership roles.
In his statement, Mutfwang praised the chairmen for their leadership and contributions to community development. He encouraged them to continue providing support, particularly in fostering unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and across Plateau State.
The governor also urged the former chairmen to collaborate with their communities to ensure the party’s success in the upcoming elections, while expressing gratitude to Plateau residents for their continued support. He reaffirmed his commitment to running an inclusive and accountable government that addresses the needs of all citizens.
