Adeolu Adeboye, son of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, is at the center of a controversy involving an ₦8 billion road construction project in Kaduna State. Reports allege that Adeolu, through his company Ronchess Global Resources Plc, received the funds from the Kaduna State Government but left the project incomplete after only 30% of the work was done.

The Kaduna State Government and the House of Assembly have launched an investigation into the alleged misappropriation of funds. In response, Adeolu has filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Lagos to prevent authorities, including the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), from arresting or detaining him.

The project, which was initially valued at ₦8.74 billion and later revised to ₦17.26 billion, was awarded in September 2020 with a completion date of January 2021. However, during a site inspection by the Kaduna State House of Assembly in May 2024, it was discovered that the work had been abandoned, with only 30% completed.

The EFCC, in its investigation, found evidence of fraud and criminal diversion of public funds. Despite receiving over ₦8 billion, Ronchess Global Resources Plc failed to complete the project. Adeolu’s legal team is challenging the ongoing investigation, with the case set to continue on September 20, 2024.
