Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a mobile phone at a Madrid nightclub. The 26-year-old Portuguese international was reportedly detained in the early hours of September 8 at La Riviera, a popular disco.
According to reports from El Mundo, the incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. after a 58-year-old man allegedly tried to take Nunes’ photo in the restroom without permission. In a moment of anger, Nunes is said to have taken the man’s phone and refused to return it.
Spanish police were called to the scene and arrested Nunes after discovering the phone in his possession. He was taken to a local police station for questioning.
