The Defence Headquarters has clarified its decision not to act against former Niger Delta militant leader, Mujahid Asari-Dokubo, despite his threat to shoot down a military helicopter. Maj. Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, explained that the military is avoiding being accused of undemocratic actions, and is focused on its primary mission of combating terrorism. Buba dismissed Asari-Dokubo’s threat as laughable and challenged him to face soldiers on the battlefield if he wished to prove his boldness.
