Troops of the Joint Task Force Northwest (OPHD) successfully killed notorious bandit leader Kachallah Buzu in Zamfara State on the night of Thursday, September 12. Intelligence sources reported that Buzu was ambushed by military forces in Mayanchi village, leading to his death along with several of his fighters.

During the operation, security forces also seized 30 motorcycles and a large cache of weapons from the bandits.

In a separate incident, three Nigerian soldiers and four police officers were killed by bandits in an ambush while responding to a potential attack on a construction company along Zamfara highway. The joint security team had been deployed to prevent the attack but were caught in a deadly gunfight with the bandits.
