The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed Globod Table Water, a factory in Delta State, for allegedly producing and selling unregistered “miracle water” under the guise of having a fake NAFDAC registration number. The factory was reportedly working with the faith-based organization, Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin.
NAFDAC Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, revealed in a statement that the products being advertised and sold by the ministry, including “Miracle & Healing Water” and “River Jordan Water,” were not registered with the agency. Prophet Jeremiah had claimed that his “miracle water” and “miracle soap” could heal various ailments, including barrenness, and falsely suggested that these products were registered with NAFDAC.
Following numerous petitions from concerned citizens, NAFDAC initiated an investigation into the faith-based ministry and its products. Despite initial resistance and non-cooperation from the ministry’s officials, the investigation uncovered that the products were being produced without the necessary regulatory approvals.
The agency has warned the public against purchasing unregistered miracle products from faith organizations and affirmed its commitment to continuing the investigation into the illegal production and sale of unwholesome products. NAFDAC assured Nigerians that it remains committed to safeguarding public health.
