Napoli’s manager, Rudi Garcia, has voiced his concerns about the injury woes of Victor Osimhen, emphasizing that the unavailability of the Nigerian striker represents a “significant loss to the team.”

Victor Osimhen sustained a medium-grade biceps femoris lesion in his right thigh while on international duty with the Super Eagles of Nigeria. This unfortunate injury will sideline the 24-year-old Nigerian international for Napoli’s upcoming matches against Hellas Verona, Union Berlin in the UEFA Champions League, and AC Milan.

Despite having other options in the forward position, Garcia acknowledges that the absence of his star striker could pose challenges for his team in winning matches.

Napoli, who have won only four league games this season, faced defeats against Real Madrid and Fiorentina just before the international break, placing pressure on Coach Garcia. The reigning Italian Serie A champions are currently occupying the fifth spot in the league table with 14 points from eight games.

Coach Garcia, speaking about Victor Osimhen’s injury setback, told La Gazzetta dello Sport, “We need all our players fit and ready to play, and Osimhen being out is a significant loss for the team. He is an important player, and we must find a solution in his absence.”
