According to a statement from Rotimi Akin, spokesperson for the House of Representatives, the session was scheduled following a directive from Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, PhD. The statement confirmed that members were summoned back from their constituencies for this crucial meeting.
A similar memo from the Clerk of the Senate, Francis Akubueze, indicated that the Senate, under the direction of President Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, would also participate in today’s session. The plenary is set to commence at noon.
