Senator Ali Ndume, representing Southern Borno, has criticized the current military leadership for their failure to apprehend notorious bandit leaders like Turji, despite the military’s success in combating Boko Haram under former President Goodluck Jonathan. Speaking at a Senate retreat in Kano, Ndume praised Jonathan’s decision to employ Private Military Consultants (PMCs) in 2014, which, he claimed, played a pivotal role in reclaiming Maiduguri from insurgents. Ndume argued that modern technology and increased recruitment could swiftly bring an end to the security challenges facing Nigeria.
